Landover Hills is a small (~500 residences), quiet municipality
located inside the
Washington, DC beltway in northern PrinceGeorge's
County, Maryland. It is a
pleasant suburban community situated on approximately 150 acres of
rolling hills
with large trees and contains 4.5 miles of streets. It is NOTadjacent
to or in any
way affilliated with the unincorporated area known as "Landover". We
are about 1
mile from the New Carrollton Metro (subway) and MARC station and are
similarly
close to U.S. Route 50 (John Hanson Highway), the Baltimore/Washington
Park-
way and the beltway

Landover Hills Day Parade and
Activities
Landover Hills Day will be held
on September 17, 2011
A parade will start at St. Mary's
Church proceed down Buchanan St. to
72nd Avenue. It will follow
72nd Avenue until Taylor St. and then end up in the
Town Hall Parking lot.
All groups marching in the parade
should arrive at the St. Mary's Church
parking lot no later than 10
a.m.
Activities will be held in the
Landover Hills Town Hall Parking lot from
noon- 4p.m. The opening ceremony
will include invited guest speakers that include
Congresswoman Donna Edwards,
Senator Victor Ramirez, Delegate Michael Summers,
County Executive Rushern Baker
and County Councilman Eric Olson.
Afterwards, there will be live
music by Electrify Pyrates, moon bounces,
health checks, displays, information
tables, food and craft vendors and
much more!
Come out and see the parade
and then walk down to Town Hall.
There will be no parking at
Town Hall so either find parking on a nearby street
or use the New Hope Academy
parking lot on Varnum St.

Notice- Implementation of Landover
Hills Speed Monitoring Systems
The Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Landover Hills
have authorized the use of speed
monitoring systems in designated
school zones. The Town of Landover Hills will start operation of its speed
monitoring systems with
a 30 day warning period on May 2, 2011. The location of the first speed
monitoring system will be on Annapolis Road, in the St. Mary's School Zone
which is
between the 7000 block of Annapolis Road and the Town boundary
at the intersection of Annapolis Road and Ardmore-Ardwick Road.
The system will be placed initially inthe 7100 block of Annapolis Road.
In accordance with State Law, beginning on June 1, 2011, the Town of Landover
Hills
will issue $40.00 civil citations to vehicles that exceed the posted
speed limit by 12 miles per hour or more.
